Dr. Brian Metcalf has been an SCI member for 16 years. He is very passionate about SCI and values the friendships and camaraderie he has found in our chapter.

Brian is a big game hunter, focusing on deer, elk, and bear, in North America. He also hunts waterfowl and upland in the Midwest. He is equally passionate about fishing, focusing on Walleye in the Midwest and Canada, fly fishing anywhere he can, and deep-sea fishing on the West Coast and Central America. He also loves to fish for salmon and halibut in Alaska.

Brian’s favorite guns are:

• Rifle: Pierce custom 300 Remington Ultra Mag.
• Shotgun: Browning Citori
• Other (bow, crossbow, muzzle loader): Raven crossbow and Mathews compound.

His advice to someone new to hunting:  “Choose a very accurate rifle, a great friend (spouse) to hunt with, be prepared for any challenge, enjoy the entire adventure whether you take an animal or not!”
